For some holiday cycling cheer consider the Santa Cycle Rampage sponsored by the Wisconsin Bicycle Federation in Milwaukee and Madison. I am guessing these were inspired by the Santa rampages years ago in Chicago where cyclists in Santa suits gathered on black Friday and were about drinking (started at a liquor store and made several stops at bars along the way) and preaching anti-consumerism to curious shoppers. The Wisconsin versions are family friendly and a fund raiser, billed as the world's largest holiday themed costume bike ride and attracts 1500 people dressed as Santas riding bikes! We've got our Santa suits and are planning to attend the Milwaukee event Dec. 7 and ride with our grandkids, ages 8 and 10.
