The route starts in the farthest parking lot of the Edward L Ryerson Conservation Area (take the entrance road all the way to the end), off of Riverwoods Rd in Deerfield. It goes north of Wauconda, then over to the Broken Oar Marina Bar & Grill on the Fox River in Port Barrington.
