Tuesday Moderate Ride – September 2 – 9:00 AM – Panera
The time has arrived for our annual post Labor Day ride down the Lakefront Path to the Garden of the Phoenix, a Japanese garden behind the Museum of Science and Industry. In addition, we will have a chance to see Yoko Ono's "Sky Landing" sculpture just outside of the garden. Lunch will be at Noodles Etc., a Pan Asian restaurant in the Hyde Park neighborhood.
Here is a link to the route I will be using: Hyde Park MSI · Ride with GPS. Our total distance is about 52 miles. I will be riding at a moderate (13 – 15 mph) pace. With enough interest I can probably arrange for a second slightly faster group.
If you want to join us in route, good places to join us would be: 1) at the beginning of the Lakefront Trail at Ardmore where we should arrive between 9:55 AM – 10:10 AM and at the Clock Tower where we should arrive between 10:10 AM and 10:25 AM. (A note of caution, I am not particularly good at making these estimates.)
The weather forecast for Tuesday is near perfect for this ride: Sun and a few passing clouds. A high temperature of 79 degrees, and winds from the ENE at 5 to 10 mph. There is only a 6% chance of rain.
