Tuesday Moderate Ride – January 6th – 10:00 AM – Panera

This Tuesday is Epiphany, the day upon which the Three Wise Men are said to have arrived in Bethlehem. In that annoyingly popular Christmas song, this is the twelfth day of Christmas – the day when the twelve drummers drumming arrive accompanied by eleven pipers piping, ten lords a-leaping, etc. … (you get the picture). This is the traditional end to the Christmas season.

Please join me on Tuesday to mark the end of the holidays. I’m planning a celebratory ride to Greek Feast. Here from my own library is a link to the route I will use: Greek Feast from Panera -- winter route --36 miles · Ride with GPS. Our total distance will be around 36 miles. I will ride at a moderate (13 to 15 mph) pace.

For most of the last week the weather forecast for Tuesday has contained the threat of rain. At present this has been reduced to a “slight chance.” The hourly forecast shows nothing greater than a 21% chance during the course of the ride. It will be cloudy with a high temperature of 41. The wind will be out of the west at 5 to 10 mph. Sounds like a good day for a winter ride. If the actual weather makes it prudent to cancel the ride, I will post an announcement to the listserv by 8:30 AM.

Please note the 10:00 AM start.
