Tuesday Moderate Ride – March 12 – 10:00 AM – Panera
The wind will be from the SW on Tuesday under cloudy skies. The temperature should be about 52 when we start the ride and will climb to a high of 65 degrees. I’m going to take my cue from the wind direction and do a short loop ride to the Omega Restaurant in Niles. We haven’t gotten there yet this off season, and it is one of my favorite off season comfort food destinations.
Here is a link to the route I will be using: NorwoodPk&Omega · Ride with GPS. This is a relatively short ride – 28 miles – but many folks will welcome a short ride this early in the year. We’ll be riding south into the city for our first rest stop at Norwood Park. This is the same place we stopped on the way to Russell’s BBQ, but we’ll be getting there by a different route. From there we will head NW through Park Ridge, by Golf Mill and on to the restaurant. After lunch and a short wiggle waggle to get to Glenview Road, well have a straight shot of 8 miles to the Panera parking lot with the wind more or less at our back.
Please note that we will be starting at 10 AM again this week. This time it has nothing to do with the weather. It just seemed like a good idea because it was a shorter ride, and this way it will be easier for me to take care of some pre-ride responsibilities.
If the weather takes a turn for the worse, I will post a cancelation notice to the listserv by 8:00 AM on Tuesday morning.
